Hey there, We’re the SWELL family!
Our SWELL time is the place to find your next family vacation spot, fun games, activity printouts, and inspiration.
We are a family of five that live in the upper Midwest. We love traveling around the United States via road trip or flight. We truly love planning our next adventure and love to share about past, current, and future travel. A family goal of ours is to sleep in all 50 US states. We enjoy visiting state parks, national parks, and monuments along the way. We hope to share our ideas and plans with you.
No, SWELL is not our last name. It is a combination of all 5 of our first name letters. Going by the SWELL family started a few Christmas ago when filling out gift tags for family members with our same last name. It just felt wrong to fill out a gift tag with To: the “Smiths” From: the “Smiths”. So from then on, we fill out gift tags with from: SWELL.
Get to know us…
S is our youngest family member and keeps us on our toes. Endlessly silly and ready to tag along for any adventure. Oh so fearless and smart.
W is our middle child who loves all arty-crafty things and is the most outgoing. Consistently thinking of others and how to create something for them.
E is the mom. Always looking to create and plan everything from parties to family game nights. Loves a good flea market and any time spent with “framily”. (Framily- friends who have turned into family)
L or “little L” is our oldest who loves sports and good competition. Always launching a ball of some sort through the air while being Big L’s sidekick.
L or “big L” is the dad. Forever our vacation planner and board game fanatic. Turns most things into a friendly competition and enjoys making others laugh.
A few extras…
E and Big L have been married for 7 years. Both have full-time jobs but wanted to share with others what they have been creating for years. We love planning family vacations months in advance and enjoy creating fun family events. We love being together as a family and are willing to make almost anything into a competition. Both grew up in the upper Midwest and have found themselves very close to their hometowns (15 minutes in each direction).
At this time we have chosen not to share our full first names or last name. The blogging world is very new to us and in the scheme of things, to the world. We are excited to share our tips, tricks, and adventures with you. With little children to keep in mind, right now you can get to know us as the SWELL’s.
